Kaseya's AuthAnvil was used by my company as the Two-Factor-Authentication app for logging into Kaseya's Virtual System Administrator (VSA). It provided added security since our VSA had access to computers around the world that control our product. We wanted to make sure that connection was secure, because if an untrained user were to log in, it could cause damage to our products. This was used by engineering, manufacturing, and field service.

- Constantly updates security codes.
- Does not offer faster login for trusted devices.
- App requires multiple clicks to get to security code.
- App is slow to load.
- App was difficult to install and pair and confirm as a trusted device. That process took over 30 minutes.

- Using AuthAnvil to log into Kaseya VSA multiple times was definitely a loss in productivity.
- AuthAnvil did provide lots of security for our products because everyone would be deterred by AuthAnvil and Kaseya VSA's labyrinth-like log in process.
Google's Authenticator app is easy and streamlined, like much of Google's products. The home screen shows you the security code and how much time is left. Kaseya's AuthAnvil requires multiple clicks to even reach the security code, and only has a progress bar that lets you guess how much time is left before the security code resets.

Kaseya AuthAnvil Review
AuthAnvil is used to provide 2 Factor-Authentication for various internal applications. It was deployed in general across the entire organization as all employees require access to our core applications. It provided compliance with several best-practices and regulations for the security of company data and applications. It was also deployed across several of our clients' environments and used to secure their data and applications.
- AuthAnvil is simple to use. Whether using an OTP code or push notifications, the application is user-friendly.
- AuthAnvil applications are easy for the end-user to install.
- AuthAnvil is readily available across multiple platforms (Windows, Android, iOS).
- AuthAnvil's administration can be complex. Without skilled IT staff to administer it, you may not be able to implement it internally.
- Reliability. Many applications just did not inter-operate well with AuthAnvil. It was often problematic.
- Inconsistent. Sometimes the application would work fine, and others it didn't. There was no rhyme or reason to the inconsistency.
- Support from the manufacturer was often slow.

- AuthAnvil was a solution that "checked a compliance box" for our organization. It did not drive any particular business objectives other than compliance with those regulations/requirements.
- We have since replaced AuthAnvil as our 2 Factor Authentication app of choice as it did not provide enough value to offset the administrative overhead involved.
We have transitioned our Multi-Factor authentication processes to use either Authy, Duo, or Microsoft Authenticator, depending on the application use-case. We still have some clients using AuthAnvil, but it is no longer our preferred application for MFA. The other offerings in the market fulfill the same requirement with either lower or no additional cost and are easier to manage and more consistent in their performance.

Solid, Secure option for basic MFA.
We use Kaseya AuthAnvil to provide 2FA at our company. We use it in combination with our VSA, as well as with our RDP authentication on windows machines. We have multiple people that need access to the same account, and AuthAnvil allows us to use 2FA on multiple devices with their Just In Time Account feature.

- They have a good mobile app.
- More functionality.
- Better documentation.

I am currently testing Okta as well. Okta seems to have a lot more functionality. They have integrations with mostly every SaaS around. They have a smoother Windows 2FA that includes push notifications and Yubikey integration. AuthAnvil is the only 2FA service available for Kaseya VSA, so that is why we are currently still using it.
We use AuthAnvil to support two-factor authenticated, remote VPN access into an AD-enabled windows environment.

- Token transfers are slightly cumbersome (e.g. moving from hard to soft-token and vice-versa)

An Honest Review of Kaseya AuthAnvil
Is it being used by a department or across the whole organization by our IT Team. It addresses password management as well as Single Sign on and Multi-Factor Authentication.

We are pretty satisfied with the features and price of Kaseya. It's easier to deploy than say Entrust or Symantec. What really makes it stand out is the integration with the overall Kaseya environment and managing everything from one pane of glass.
